Welcome to my practice. I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist and clinical supervisor. Though I have experience in treating a broad range of issues, my specialties include the treatment of anxiety, anger, trauma, and addictions. I practice Integrative Psychotherapy, which incorporates all aspects of the person in the change process. Many people who seek counseling do so as a result of experiencing a problem that they cannot resolve on their own. This creates difficulties in moods, behaviors, and relationships as that problem begins to drain their energy and attention. My goal is to assist you in re-connecting with a sense of balance, or integration, in your life.
I incorporate mindfulness-based interventions, a strong knowledge of neuroscience, and research-based therapy approaches to assist individuals or couples to increase their ability to fully embrace their experience and mindfully create change in their lives.
In addition to my practice as a psychotherapist, I also teach as an adjunct faculty member in the Grand Valley State University School of Social Work. I also provide trainings at conferences and agencies around the state of Michigan, and provide clinical supervision and consultation to other therapists. Some of the topics that I present on are addiction, trauma, neuroscience, and the implementation of mindfulness practices in clinical settings.
